Becoming a new mom was not only a joyful experience, it also came with feelings of being overwhelmed and helpless. I was especially struggling with breastfeeding my son. I decided to seek help from the lactation consultants and that is how I met Sherley.
She was so kind and passionate with me. I felt comforted knowing that she was right by my side if I needed help. I felt extremely grateful that she was available at any time via texts and phone calls. She made daily visits to my house for a few days in a row just so I can be at ease. During my times of discouragement, she was my support and encouraged me to continue to breastfeed. Besides the daily challenges of being a new mom, I also felt empty without my own mom’s support as she had passed a few years before.
In my heart I still feel like she was looking down from Heaven and handpicked Sherley to be there in her place. I thank God for Sherley’s presence in my life. I was able to successfully bond with my son and feed him till he was about 10 months old and I owe it all to Sherley’s guidance and support.
I plan on continuing to seek her guidance with my future babies.

After giving birth to my son, breastfeeding was something that I anticipated would come naturally, but day after day I struggled with it. At home I continued to struggle with breast feeding, so I consulted the lactation specialist and I was lucky enough to have Sherley come and work with me. Having her come to my home was useful in many ways. She was able to assess the environment that I was breastfeeding in and give me suggestions to help improve.
Sherley kept in touch with me and every day she checked upon my progress with breastfeeding. She continually offered support and gave helpful advice on different foods and herbal supplements that may help improve my milk supply.
If it wasn’t for Sherley’s support, encouragement, and help I would have definitely given up. I would highly recommend Sherley for all nursing mothers.

My lactation consultant, Sherley, who had come to my rescue and extinguished all of my negative thoughts about breastfeeding. During the visit she showed me how to latch my baby correctly to my breast and massage techniques that would allow my milk to flow and for the first time, it actually did. There was hope for me after all!
Sherley visited me several times to check on my progress and would text and call to follow up as well. Everyone who was aware about my struggle had several meaningful opinions which made me question whether I was doing something correctly or not, but after meeting Sherley, she became my one voice, giving me enough confidence to continue pushing forward with my daughter. Sherley was knowledgeable, prompt, and resourceful. More importantly, she cared about my daughter and me.
Sherley is clearly passionate about breastfeeding. She became a part of our lives and I began to consult her on anything related to breastfeeding. After we successfully established my milk supply and both my daughter and I were nursing pros, my daughter got thrush. Sherley was so knowledgeable in how I should be treating myself and I was surprised at the different protocols that were recommended to patients between the pediatric and OB groups. It was because of Sherley’s expertise, I was able to navigate each group and ensure that my daughter and I received treatment simultaneously.
Very few words can convey how grateful I am for Shirley’s help. Breastfeeding was very important to me and looking back I feel if Sherley hadn’t been available to take an emergency appointment, my daughter and I would not have been as successful as we were. I would highly recommend Sherley to anyone who is experiencing breast feeding challenges.
